Position: Part Time Lead Baker

Compensation: hourly, $13.00; Aprox. 12+ hours/week.

Work days: Thursday evening, Friday morning, Saturday morning, plus Flexible time.

Kitchen Location: La Habra (Potentially moving to L.A. within the year.)

Job Description: Responsible for the execution of all cupcake production. You will lead and work with kitchen team members to ensure efficiency and diligence, as well as consistency of all our products, in a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with manager to pre-plan weekly productions as well as work on other projects

  • Maintain excellent lines of communication with manager and team members

  • Adapt to new work situations or roles; open to new ways of doing things

  • Ensure quality standards and controls are in compliance with company guidelines

  • Flexible to assist anywhere it is required

  • Meet and/or exceed the local and federal food handling standards to ensure that the kitchen and the food storage areas are in compliance

  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness at all times

  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of in process and finished products to minimize bakery food product outage

  • Conduct daily physical inventory inspections to identify waste and shrinkage. Always use FIFO (First In, First Out)

  • Ensure that recipes are followed 100% of the time and that all tastes profiles are appropriate

  • Ensure proper safety procedures are being followed

  • Communicate all assignments to team members

  • Cross-train team members and develop/maintain an effective cross-training program

  • Some driving required as well as loading, unloading

  • Proficient in all the roles and responsibilities in the Culinary department

    • Must be able to lift, move & carry up to 50 pounds 

    • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling and reaching

    • Able to stand for extended periods of time

Qualifications:

  • Two years of bakery/pastry experience in a professional kitchen. Culinary degree preferred.

  • Food Safety Certification

  • Available to work weekends

  • Valid California Driver's License
